What is the function of Chinese Truck Clutch?

Publish Time: 2022-11-28     Origin: Site

The strength of the Chinese Truck Clutch, the friction coefficient of the friction plates clutch diameter, friction plate position and clutch number are key factors in determining, the performance of the clutch. The higher the stiffness of the spring, the higher the friction coefficient of the friction plates and the larger the clutch diameter, the better the performance of the clutch. The role of the clutch is simple.

What is the function of Chinese Truck Clutch?

This is a common question asked by new drivers who are learning to drive a manual transmission car.

For simplicity, you need to press the clutch fully when you want to stop the car completely and shift gears.

You also need to press the clutch and use "clutch control" to drive slowly at speeds below 5 mph.

Fully depress the clutch when stopping.

If you are driving slowly, below about 10 mph, and want to stop, press the clutch first so the car doesn't stall, then apply the brake.

If you are driving faster than about 10 mph, brake to slow down and then depress the clutch about 2 car lengths before stopping to prevent stalling.

Always remember that any time you need to drive at less than 5 mph, you then need to depress the clutch or the car will stall.

But you don't need to apply the Chinese Truck Clutch every time you brake. for example, if you are slowing down in a turn, then you only need to let off the gas and brake when necessary.

If you press the clutch unnecessarily or prematurely, then you will allow the car to skid or idle, which will reduce the amount of control you have over the car and can increase speed.

What causes the Chinese Truck Clutch pedal to chatter when accelerating?

When your clutch pedal vibrates, it means that the clutch disc intermittently loses grip on the flywheel.

Possible causes of vibration or chattering include:

  • Worn clutch disc linings (friction material)

  • Burnt or oil contaminated clutch disc linings

  • Glazed clutch discs

  • Worn clutch disc hubs with worn splines

  • Warped pressure plate or flywheel

  • Weak pressure plate diaphragm springs or broken fingers (bouncing)

  • Pressure plate with hot spots

  • Worn or damaged pilot bearing

  • Worn flywheel

What are the signs of a slipping Chinese Truck Clutch?

If a transmission shop mechanic mentions that your Chinese Truck Clutch is slipping, it means that the clutch friction material is worn. Your clutch only engages by friction, so if there is no material there to provide friction, then your clutch will not engage properly. If your clutch is slipping, you will feel your vehicle move slowly when you release the pedal and accelerate, and your engine will rev higher. You may also notice that the clutch releases faster than expected without much pressure.
